Educational policy

Step by step guides the children step by step in their development. In doing so, we connect with the child's pace, interests and level of development and thus help to take it one step further in its development.

Our pedagogical goals are:

Emotional security

Before children develop, they must feel emotionally safe. From a safety perspective, they have the motivation to explore and develop at their own pace. To guarantee emotional safety, Step By Step works with a clear structure and predictability, and children are also given the opportunity to get used to it. This way of working makes the environment for children predictable and safe, so that they want to play and thus develop. The atmosphere within the nursery is also warm and homely

Personal development

At Step By Step, children are given the opportunity to further develop their motor skills, for which they are offered stimulation, activities and guidance. Within the stimulation of motor development, the pedagogical staff connect to the different ages and levels of development of the children.

Social development

Children especially develop in social development, because they come into contact with others through interaction. Childcare offers children the opportunity to become acquainted with social skills in a playful way and to acquire them. The pedagogical staff of Step By Step therefore give the children the opportunity to play with each other, in which they are aware of the different ages and development stages of the children.

Values and standards

The transfer of norms and values continuously plays a role in childcare. Values are understood to mean views that are important to a large group of people and that give direction to how they interact with each other. At Step By Step we find values such as respect for each other, being kind and helpful are very important. In our pedagogical policy plan we have described how we want to act, offer childcare, but also how we want to encourage children in their development, the most important thing is that they get time to do this at their own pace.
